Maloven Gazette
About the Publication

Founding Notes

Maloven Gazette began as a record-keeping exercise — a disciplined effort to separate what is documented from what is assumed in the space of men's nutritional practice.

Editorial Position

An independent record, produced without commercial incentive.

The Gazette holds no commercial arrangements with ingredient suppliers, formulation brands, or distribution networks. No copy is paid for or placed on behalf of a third party. This policy is not aspirational — it is structural. The editorial team is not equipped to accept sponsorship even if it were offered.

Writers are selected for their familiarity with nutritional research literature and their capacity to read a certificate of composition without editorial embellishment. The subject matter — men's daily nutritional habits in a tropical climate — is specific enough to require genuine engagement with primary source material.

The Gazette is based in South Jakarta. The surrounding supply network — local botanical processors, Indonesian whole-food ingredient distributors, regional third-party verification laboratories — forms part of the editorial context that distinguishes the publication from internationally produced equivalents.

Publication Standards
01 — Second Review

Every article is reviewed by a second editor before publication. Factual claims are checked against the original cited source, not against secondary summaries.

02 — Source Citation

Where a nutritional claim is made, the underlying research reference is noted within the article. Readers who wish to follow a citation to its source are encouraged to do so.

03 — Public Corrections

Factual corrections are noted publicly at the foot of the relevant article, with the correction date recorded. No article is silently amended after publication.

04 — Conflict Disclosure

Writers disclose any commercial relationships that could influence their subject selection. This disclosure appears on each contributor page and is reviewed annually.

Editor in Chief

Tobias Marsden

Tobias Marsden has spent the better part of a decade reading the supply-chain documentation that most nutritional publications skip over. His editorial focus is on labelling accuracy and what batch certificates actually communicate to a careful reader. He joined the Gazette at its founding and has written the majority of its ingredient sourcing entries.

Senior Contributing Editor

Eleanor Whitfield

Eleanor Whitfield contributes from a background in botanical research and has a particular interest in adaptogenic plant sourcing across Southeast Asian growing regions. Her articles on whole-food adaptogen supply chains draw on direct correspondence with growers and processors in Sumatra and West Java.

Contributing Writer

Jasper Caldwell

Jasper Caldwell is a guest contributor who approaches men's nutritional practice from a grooming and lifestyle angle. His entries focus on the intersection of personal care routines and nutritional habits, drawing on his observations of daily routines documented during extended periods working in Jakarta, Bali, and Yogyakarta.

Subject Coverage

What the Gazette covers and what it deliberately leaves aside.

The publication focuses on daily nutritional habits — specifically how men in active lifestyles source, verify, and integrate natural ingredients into structured morning and evening routines. The subject area includes protein-rich meal composition, mineral complex sourcing, adaptogen overviews, and the practical aspects of grooming essentials informed by nutritional considerations.

The Gazette does not publish content that presents itself as authoritative guidance for individual circumstances. The editorial team is not composed of qualified nutrition professionals, and the publication does not function as a substitute for professional consultation. Each article is written as an observation and structured accordingly.

Articles in the stress management and outdoor fitness categories approach the subject from a routine-documentation perspective — what structured habits look like across different activity levels — rather than from a prescriptive angle.

Jakarta Context

The Gazette operates from South Jakarta's Kemang district, a neighbourhood with a concentration of specialty food and ingredient importers, alongside the distribution networks that supply whole-food ingredient processors across the Jabodetabek region. This proximity to the supply chain gives the editorial team access to documentation and sourcing contacts that would not be available to a remotely based publication.
